HELP picks up six BAFTA nominations

Nominations for the 2022 BAFTA TV and BAFTA TV Craft Awards have been announced with Help listed amongst the dominant titles, picking up nominations in six categories:

Single Drama

Leading Actress – Jodie Comer

Leading Actor – Stephen Graham

Supporting Actress – Cathy Tyson

Director – Fiction – Marc Munden

Writer – Drama – Jack Thorne

Set in a fictional Liverpool care home, Help, written by Jack Thorne and directed by Marc Munden, tells the story of the relationship between a young care home worker (Jodie Comer) and a patient (Stephen Graham), whose lives are changed forever by the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in Spring 2020.

News of the nominations comes following recent wins at the 2022 Broadcast Awards (Single Drama), the UK Broadcasting Press Guild Awards (Best Actor – Stephen Graham) and most recently the RTS Programme Awards on Tuesday evening which saw Help pick up the award for Single Drama and described by the judges as “a beautiful, poignant piece of work with exquisite performances at its heart.”

The BAFTA TV Awards ceremony takes place on 8 May, with the Craft Awards scheduled for 24 April.
