Roadkill is a 4-part political thriller about a self-made, forceful and charismatic politician Peter Laurence (Hugh Laurie), whose public and private life comes under strain when enemies threaten to upend him.
Fresh from a successful libel case against a journalist printing stories alleging corruption, he’s a man on the up. But Peter is a risktaker. With his career on a knife edge, he powers on fearlessly with his own, divisive brand of common-sense libertarianism.
As personal secrets spiral out of control, Peter, untroubled by shame or remorse, remains determined to further his own political agenda and avoid complete catastrophe. However, despite Peter’s best efforts, events reveal just how hard it is to leave the past behind.
