Executive Chair

George began his career in BBC Drama as a script editor, producer and executive producer, becoming Head of Single Drama for his final 4 years there. He left to set up Company Pictures with Charlie Pattinson. The company was twice winner of Best Independent Production Company at the Broadcast Awards and was also winner of Best European Production Company at the Monte Carlo TV Festival.
During his 12 years there, Company Pictures grew into one of the UK’s largest, most successful and highly regarded UK drama indies, winning Golden Globes, EMMYs, BAFTAs and RTS Awards for its acclaimed productions including Shameless, Skins, Elizabeth I, Generation Kill, The Shadow Line, The Devil’s Whore, The Village, Wild at Heart and the features The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, A Room for Romeo Brass and Morvern Callar.
George founded The Forge in 2014 and was Managing Director for the first 11 years of the company. Under his leadership the company has produced award-winning dramas for Apple TV+, Disney+, Starz, the BBC and Channel 4, working with top UK creatives as well as with a host of newer talent.
As Executive Chair, George is continuing to develop and executive produce new shows as well as contributing to the creative and commercial strategy of the company.
